At BLAH to celebrate Belgian New Year.
A 6% ABV Automatic Brewing Company English strong pale at Blind Lady Ale House (BLAH). Much better than the ol’ run-of-the-mill English strong pale.
Founders Brewing ‘s 9% ABV sweet framboise lambic Blushing Monk for the lady, and Beachwood Brewing’s 7% ABV Citra IPA, Citraholic, in the big boy glass for me.
Decided not to try the flight and went straight to big boy glasses. Automatic 6th Anniversary IPA for me and Automatic 6th Anniversary Belgian Blonde with Apricots for the lady.
Pizza Port OB Flyin’ Hawaiian, a Bavarian – style hefe, in the big girl glass for the lady, and Craftsman Mesa Verde, a barrel aged sour with white wine grapes, in the tiny snifter glass for me. Yay beer!
Allagash Victor for the lady and Pizza Port Su-Bourbon Stout on cask for me. Team PubQuest beer cycling beer stop #4.
Bells Two Hearted Pale Ale in the big boy glass for me and Logsdon Seizoen Bretta in the dainty snifter for the lady. Both good..mine was hoppy and satisfying, with a wonderful fruity hoppy aroma. I was surprised that the brett saison had the flavor of the bottle conditioned beer… very nice.
$20 for .25L and 100% going to charity. She chose the Philipween guava saison, which comes in a bigger glass.
Automatic/ Amplified collaboration beer Phillipween in the big glass for the lady, and a danty glass of DuPont La Biere de Beloeil for me. Yum…fine fuel for our ride back.
Great to see the big selection of Automatic Brewing beers on the final day of San Diego Beer Week. Really really liked the Super Duper with passion fruit… but only allowed a small taste.
