The first stop was not even on the list but was close; a place to gather our thoughts, sip something yummy and plan our return drive south….Rock Bottom Brewery Long Beach. I have enjoyed beer at Rock Bottom La Jolla, San Diego Gaslamp and Colorado Springs. I wish I could say the same for the stop at the Long Beach location. Maybe it was an off day…but…the beer was completely forgettable…
Planning went fast and we left without finishing the tasters….
Next stop…Bootlegger’s Brewery in Fullerton. Though not their regular tasting hours, they were nice enough to pour samples of what they had on draft. They had some tasty regulars beers…Black Phoenix, Rustic Rye IPA, Palomino Pale Ale….but what was really yummy are the ones not bottled. Silence of the Yams, Hopinator with Rustic Rye IPA…yummy stuff.
Our next stop was…The Bruery in Placentia. The Bruery was not open for tastings on the Tuesday I happened to be in the area. They kindly ask me to return during their normal tasting hours….oh well…maybe another time.
Our next stop…Taps Fish House & Brewery in Brea. Cold Beer and good happy hour food specials. What more could you ask for before driving back home? All in all, a great couple of days of beer. Hooray beer.
