Got this thanks to some friends from back East who came to visit. At first I wasn’t too sure if I’d like it — a smoke-flavored Belgian Blonde didn’t sound quite right. But after tasting it (okay, drinking almost the whole bottle by myself), I’ve decided that I quite like it.
It’s definitely a Belgian Blonde — it’s got the color, head and the biscuity-fruity flavor. But it’s enhanced by a smokey, malty aroma and flavor that makes for a refreshing, but interesting, beer. Best I can describe it is it reminds me of that great campfire aroma and flavor everything has after you’ve been in the woods a couple days (preferably with a dirty blonde of your own).
Good stuff.
