Considering that the Oregon brewpub Guide is only ten pages, and that includes the cover and the pull out map, and that McMenamins Pubs covers over two pages front and back, it would seem McMenamins is as common to Oregon as taco shops are to southern California. McMenamins represents 48 of the 138 listed brewpubs in the 2009 Oregon Brewpub Guide.
I ordered the completely forgettable McMenamins Ale Sampler. Maybe my tastes buds were destroyed by the Hoptygon at Silver Moon, but all the beers tasted as if an ice cube had melted in them.
I didn’t want to finish my samples, but I was thirsty so I ordered a pint of the seasonal Oatmeal Stout on nitro. It was light and smooth.
