Swung by the new Prohibition Brewing in Vista, CA for their grand opening. Talked to the owner and they haven’t even started brewing here yet — what they have on tap he brewed in his barn not too far away.
Beer isn’t bad — pretty basic (Stout, Hefe, Pale Ale) — but I’ll be interested to see what comes out once he’s been brewing on the shiny new seven barrel system he has in the back. The guest taps include your usual macro-brews as well as some selections from Green Flash and Sierra Nevada (Torpedo!) — just $4.50 a pint, so it’s a good deal.
As for the menu, the sliders were good (handmade burgers!) as was the chili on the chili cheese fries. Worst case, there’s a brewpub within walking distance from home now.
