FNG Pale Ale from Port Brewing / The Lost Abbey. A 5.5% hoppy pale ale they produced just for New Jersey to celebrate the brewery’s distribution launch in that state on January 1, 2012.
It’s hoppy but with a lot of fruity notes both in the nose and on the tongue. At just 5.5% a very drinkable pale that a lot of people outside of San Diego would consider an IPA. All around great, very drinkable beer.
Got it on tap at the brewery’s tasting room a few days before it premieres in the Garden State. Not sure, but I heard that the name (FNG) is short for the verb that many of the state’s residents use to precede “New Jersey”.
