Traquair Jacobite

Only coincidental to post two Scottish beers in a row… This beer foamed out the bottle upon opening (hence the 1/2 glass pic), then settled down looking like a cola in my fancy glass. Tasted of coriander, brown sugar, molasses, and bready malt. This ancient recipe is brewed at the Traquair House Brewery in the oldest continually occupied house in Scotland. The beer was named for the Jacobite movement when the gates of the Traquair house were closed in 1745 in an unsuccessful uprising in hopes of returning a Stuart to the Scottish Throne. Lots of history there… Now back to my beer!
