Unsung Slagma Red IPA

The back the can says that “Slagma strikes with a sticky, piney, resinous hop-bite and doesn’t relent. With a strong malt backbone, this vindictive invertebrate will prove to be surprisingly easy to swallow.” I don’t know who writes their marketing, but there’s no piney, resin, or hard to swallow. There is lots of red-malt complexity, an amazing dryness, and really good flavor. I love red IPAs–Elysian Vahalla, Bobble Head, Hop Head Red, Red Rover Recusion, and many others, but this one is at the top. The only downside is that at 9.8% ABC, slightly less than some of the others, which takes a little bit away from the relaxing factor.
