Typing that I am entering Tiger! Tiger!’s Super Ultra-Soft Open may sound like an act of beastiality, but I assure you..it is not. I came to enjoy myself and brought a date…or..she brought me. Maybe that does nothing to assure you. We came for the beer and decided on an Alpine W.H. Ale,their wet hop […]
Really, how could we just drive by and not stop…just for a couple of tastes. And as tired as we were, we are glad we did. Malane’s Request Coffee Stout, a barrel aged beer called Murder by Death and Dolman’s Dark Star. Looking over and seeing Michele’s nose in Dolman’s Dark Star was reminiscent of the end […]
…our ninth stop on the Santa Barbara beer adventure (for those who are counting), had 13 house brews available, so of course we tried one of each. Orange Crush XXX was interesting, but not necessarily good. It was like an orange liquor that had ice cubes melt in it. I think it would have made […]
…just a few minutes drive north on the 101. We tasted each of their 13 drafts…no hippie kicker ipa…but the standout beers were their sour wheat called Tiny Bubbles, and Wet Hop Red…a well balanced fresh hop red ale. P.S. stop #7..for people like Michele who count things.
…is stop #4. Having a flight of 10 +1. A brewery and homebrew mart…there is a lot going on here…and only 4-months old. At that age it should be just now crawling…and these guys are off at a full sprint.
…is stop #2 on our Santa Barbara beer adventure. Tasted Manifesto, Solidarity, Unity and barrel aged Equinox. The Equinox aged in a wine barrel is spectacular.
The Brewhouse has a new brewer…and lucky us. Samiun Harvest Pumpkin Ale, at 6.5%abv, and Big Black Stout, at 7% abv, are very good for this homebrewer first few batches here. New Brewmaster, Brian, has been at a couple months now, but off to a great start. We will definitely be back.
Very refreshing…light body, mild tartness, clean finish. Label says brewed with the addition of lemon verbena, lactobacillus and brettanomyces…yummy. Maybe even more so after a 20+ mile bike ride around Mission Bay…a flat tire made me walk the last mile or so…sad story but with a happy ending. Yay Beer!
Well… done with yard work for the day. Time for a High Tide fresh hop IPA from Port Brewing.
From Allagash..uh..should have included “hill” in the title but didn’t…and..it is night… Still on from sour fest…yay!
