As Beligian Wits go, Hoegaarden has always been one of my favorites. But ever since InBev acquired Anheiser-Busch and AB-InBev started distributing it here in the U.S., I’ve felt it lost something. Then my daughter brought me a bottle direct from Antwerp and I figured it out. The stuff we’re getting in America has lost a lot of the coriander and citrus spiciness so it tastes kind of bland compared to the stuff from the moederland.
It was nice to have a fresh bottle again. It was also good to read that it’s still ongefilterd van nature troebel.
