Guava Libre! Consolation Prize

She enjoyed the dessert-like Guava Libre!, a collaboration beer The Bruery and Funky Budda. Think milkshake IPA, minus the hop bitterness, with added vanilla and sweet fruit. They even let it ferment enough to get up to 7.5% ABV.

I, on the other hand, got the Consolation Prize.

This 9.5% ABV double IPA, from the fine folks at Lord Hobo Brewing, is nicely balanced with a plethora of piney and resinous hop characteristics and no residual malty sweetness.
