Pleasantly surprised by this 7.5% ABV belgian-style saison. This has been in the fridge for a while as we weren’t to impressed with other SouthNorte beers we’ve tried.
At Wheat & Water
A very tasty brett saison brewed with Elderflowers from Port Townsend, WA.
This one’s been sitting in my fridge for a little over a year, but I’ve been meaning to try it. It’s Ovila, a Saison collaboration Sierra Nevada did with the monks of the restored Ovila Abbey in Northern California.
What a beauty! My selection before it won a gold metal at GABF!
We were 90% through an afternoon bike ride and made a detour to California Kabob for beer. I grabbed a Stone Enjoy by 9-21 IPA, while the lady had a Biere D’Hougoumont from Brewery Ommegang. Both went well with lamb tacos, 2 for $5 Taco Tuesday…mmmm.
Tastes wonderful…perfect for a pre-holiday party beverage. The combination of citrus flavors and carbonation reminds me of a mimosa..sort-of…but better.
A delightful surprise from Anchorage Brewing on this warm sunny San Diego day in November… This Saison was brewed with rose hips, pepper corns, and orange peels, dry hopped with Citra, aged in French Oak Pinot Noir barrels with Brett, and bottle conditioned. Whew, and well worth all the effort! One of the most interesting […]
Perfect Saison after our Sunday bike ride… Light (for a 9.5%), refreshing, champagne-like, with lots of aromas and yummy flavors. Name means, “with best wishes” and was intended as a Happy New Year beer gift. Oh well, it was greatly enjoyed as a birthday beer gift! (I rated it 5/5 on Untappd.)
Relaxing after our 28 mile jaunt around Mission Bay with an Upright Brewing Belgian style Saison, SEVEN (8% ABV). We enjoyed beer tasting at Upright in Portland during OBF. Glad to find it at Bottlecraft in SD!
