Jai Alai IPA from Cigar City

This is the last of the beers I got from our new Florida friends. An interesting IPA aged in American White Oak — the same thing they age bourbon in. 7.5% ABV and not as aggressively hopped as the West Coast IPAs I’m used to. Oak definitely adds sugar and wood flavors.

For me it’s an IPA upfront and a barley wine on the back. It’s interesting, but I’m not sure it’d be my first choice.
