Before breakfast or after going to bed….you can’t go wrong with Pliny the Elder. It is also makes a great Valentine’s gift…or at least I thought so. Thanks sweetie…xoxo.
We tried um all, paired with a yummy BBQ brisket parfait…tasty. The place was packed, so much so that you had to get back in line after ordering….and that was double fisted. We were lucky that when thirsty we knew someone in line. When I say we being thirsty, I mean me. When I say […]
I recently got my hands on a bottle Essence from Hanger 24 Brewery. A double IPA brewed with navel oranges, blood oranges and grapefruit. Tastes good, though poured a bit chunky and left an inch plus in the bottle to keep beer clearer than it otherwise would have been.
Ale that is…and my Valentine for reals. The great hop smell dissipates quickly once poured into a glass. The flavor is much less hoppy than the nose implies. Nice balance. Need to stock up… and try on draft.
Losers Weepers. We found this in the fridge beer drawer and it seemed like the perfect “after-dinner jacuzzi beer”. 10.5% ABV and strong roasted malt flavor hides the 90-IBUs. Awesome beer, but personally I like it a little better on draft.
I truly love great beer in a can. This may not be great, but I enjoyed it. Resin is brewed by Six Points Craft Ales. The wonderful resin hop smell upon opening quickly disapated once poured into a glass. I expected something different based on the nose, and was pleasantly surprised to taste a beer […]
…it’s a Celebration. Fresh hop Sierra Nevada style.
I guess it’s not really morning, maybe it just feels that way do to the clouds and rainy weather, and the fact that I just got up. Perfect time to BBQ, and you legally cannot BBQ without a beer. (Not sure if that is a State or County law, but I’m pretty sure it’s a […]
Enjoying a Merry Christmas Happy New Year 2012 from Anchor Brewing in my new beer goblet. Strong roasted malt flavors with notes of holiday spices.
Making the best of a rainy day of cleaning house by adding beer. ed on the nose and color I expected something a bit different. It smelled like the boiled hops of an over-the-top-hop imperial IPA and I expected the hops to overwhelm the malt back. The beer was nicely balanced, and just what the […]
